Assistant Store Manager

full-time 37.5hrs (including weekends)

 

Key attributes:

• 2 years’ experience minimum in a similar role for fast-food/fast-paced food environment

• A great team leader

• Able to solve problems and look after the team

• Experience in day-to-day operations of a shop

 

Assistant Store Managers will be expected to: 

• Maintain store spirit

• Weekly rota scheduling

• Look after a team of Ice Cream Reps

• Lead by example

• Get stuck in when necessary

• Deal with customer queries when necessary

• Order stock

• Cash up

• Ensure store is in tip-top condition

• Handle problems that arise

• Be available to work weekends, late nights (past 10pm.)

Brief Job Description:

The job of the Assistant Store Manager is to work with and support the Store Manager and Shop team by training and role modelling exceptional customer service, creating beautiful Milk Train ice creams and drinks, hustling through lines and late-night deep cleaning, and treating all customers and team members with care and respect. The dynamic leadership duo of Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager runs their shop like it’s their company (while having all of Team Milk Train there to support them.) They hire, train, schedule, and manage a team of 10-20 Ice Cream Reps while learning about customer service, people management, and soulful entrepreneurship.

We’re growing, and as we grow we will need new Store Managers. The best way to hire an exceptional Store Manager is to promote an exceptional Assistant Store Manager.

The qualified Assistant Store Manager candidate:

• Has a great work ethic, a good heart, exceptional judgement, smarts, and common sense

• Is energetic, positive, and a skillful communicator

• Is calm under pressure

• Has a knowledge and appreciation of what makes our ice creams so magical

• Prior management experience, particularly in the hospitality industry.
